Ahead of the upcoming releases of Black Panther and the hugely anticipated Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel have already moved ahead with their next film of the MCU Phase Three era.
Following his excellent big-screen debut in 2015, the miniature superhero Ant-Man is back with his own follow-up which is released just a couple of months after Infinity War.
However our unlikely hero has a reliable new partner in crime to help him in the upcoming sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp. The film’s trailer has finally hit the web and can be seen below:
Directed again by Peyton Reed, the plot sees Scott Lang / Ant-Man go on the run with veteran scientist Dr. Hank Pym and his daughter Hope as the trio try to escape from the authorities. However Scott finds himself teaming up with Hope for a new mission in which the latter finally gets to take on her new role as the Wasp.
Paul Rudd (Scott Lang / Ant-Man), Evangeline Lilly (Hope) and Michael Douglas (Hank) are all back for the sequel alongside other original cast members Michael Pena (Luis), Judy Greer (Maggie Lang), David Dastmalchian (Kurt), T.I. (Dave) and Abby Ryder Fortson (Cassie Lang).
There are also some new additions to the latest film of the Marvel series which include Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix trilogy, Man of Steel), Walton Goggins (The Shield, Justified) and Hannah John-Kamen (Killjoys, Ready Player One). Experienced actress Michelle Pfieffer (Batman Returns, Murder on the Orient Express) has also landed a key role in the film as Hank’s seemingly deceased wife Janet.
Ant-Man and the Wasp will be released in the UK on August 3rd.
