Within the space of a couple of years, Jennifer Lawrence has taken the giant step from independent actress and has now become a major Hollywood star. This incredible success has come not only from her Oscar-winning performance as Tiffany in the rom-com Silver Linings Playbook but also for her iconic role as action-heroine Everdeen Katniss in the fantasy blockbuster The Hunger Games.
But despite the busyness of 2012/13, Lawrence is continuing to work hard with upcoming new projects and is back to carry the bow and arrow in the Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire which has finally unveiled its first trailer.
Once again based on the novel series from Suzanne Collins, the second film follows on from the events of the first installment as Everdeen (Lawrence) and Peeta Mallark (Josh Hutcherson) celebrate their triumph with a victory tour only to be forced back into the arena to compete in the Capitol’s Quarter Quell.
Other original characters including Professor Snow (Donald Sutherland), Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks), Haymitch Abernathy (Woody Harrelson), Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth) and Caesar Flickerman (Stanley Tucci) are seen in the trailer as well as newcomer Pultarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman). However fans will be disappointed that there is no sign of other new characters such as Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin) or Johanna Mason (Jena Malone) in the preview.
The film will be released in cinemas worldwide on November 22nd.
