For many audiences, Margot Robbie is considered one of the most beautiful actresses in the world with plenty of talent to offer.

The Australian star first caught our eye years ago when she played Donna Freedman in the popular Aussie soap Neighbors and has not looked back since with key film roles in the likes of Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), Focus (2014) and the DC Comics blockbuster Suicide Squad (2016).

But now, Robbie is set to take on her most challenging role yet as she portrays American figure skater Tonya Harding in the upcoming sports biopic I, Tonya. Following the release of a teaser last month, a full-length red-band trailer has now premiered online.

Directed by Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl, The Finest Hours), the story focuses on Harding’s career as she rises among the ranks at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. However her competitive personality eventually leads to her future in the sport being tarnished following a controversial incident with a fellow skater.

The biopic also stars Emmy-Award winning actress Allison Janney (The West Wing, Mom) as Harding’s abusive mother LaVona Golden and Sebastian Stan (The Martian, Captain America: Civil War) as her former husband Jeff Gillooly. Additional acting support also comes from Julianne Nicholson (Boardwalk Empire, Black Mass), Bobby Cannavale (Boardwalk Empire, Ant-Man) and Caitlin Carver (Paper Towns, Dear White People) as Harding’s ice-skating rival Nancy Kerrigan.

The film has been gaining traction on the festival circuit and is poised to be an awards season favorite with Robbie recently earning a Gotham Award nomination for her portrayal while Janney’s performance is also generating buzz in the Best Supporting Actress category.

I, Tonya will be released in the UK on 16th February 2018.
