A lot of people have been expecting Bill Murray to return to the Ghostbusters franchise but instead he has been committing to other projects like the upcoming historical dramedy Hyde Park on Hudson.
The first trailer has been released for the film with Murray taking on the role of the US president Franklin D Roosevelt.
The plot focuses on Roosevelt and his First Lady Eleanor (Olivia Williams) welcoming the visit of King George VI (Samuel West) and Queen Elizabeth (Olivia Colman) for a weekend at their New York home just before the Second World War begins.
Oscar-nominated actress Laura Linney (You Can Count on Me, Love Actually) co-stars in the film with Roger Mitchell (Notting Hill, Changing Lanes) directing. Release date is likely to be in early December.
Historical films have become one of my favourite genres in recent times particularly with The King’s Speech which shares similarities of its setting with this film. Murray will be the one to watch (especially after the Cannes popularity of his other film Moonrise Kingdom) with Oscar-potential on the cards should this film be a critical hit.
It could well be a great comeback year for him especially with being one of the overdue actors in Hollywood!
